What do you do when it rains day in and day out in Switzerland (and that is not uncommon)? Go chase waterfalls, we say!
Let us take you on an easy hike to Switzerland’s, commonly named, most beautiful waterfall, Berglistüber.
A train from Zurich HB will get you straight to Linthal in 1.5 hs. From Linthal just walk along Bahnhofstrasse in the direction of the train that brought you here. You will pass the hydroelectric plant then at a small fish pond on the left, turn right and head up into a small forest.
While this section of the walk only takes 10 minutes, it is so meditating with the sound of the gushing river beneath and distant cow bells accompanying you as you make your way up through the mossy green forest.
A strip of road will follow, but we are already rewarded with a stunning waterfall, the lower part of the river Fätschbach, that forms Berglistüber waterfalls further up. Here we already realize we are up for a beautiful sight indeed so we continue up the hill. The yellow hiking signs take us through a field and across a couple of roads.
The Bergli Guesthouse and a kiosk will lead us to the right way. Pass the kiosk and just follow the sound of gushing water.
